Our Story

BRAND PHILOSOPHY

We adhere to the principles of the slow food movement and believe that foods should be produced carefully and savoured. But, above all, we believe that nature’s purest foods are also the healthiest and most flavourful. That’s why we produce our products artisanally and organically as nature wants us to be.

Organic Kashmir organisation are farmers of bee-keeping and saffron fields owned by us. We have full control over our product as we growers and producers with in-house cleaning, blending our own tea and packaging. Organic Kashmir holds a farmers license, forest license and all our practices and products are FDA approved.

FARM PRODUCTION

Organic Kashmir uses sustainable growing practices. All crops are grown in safe, clean and environmentally friendly conditions. Our “earth friendly” growing practices ensure long term sustainability, efficient utilisation of resources and respect for local bio diversity.

Our quality control begins with premium and Non-GMO seeds, nurtured and grown at our own facilities, ensuring complete control and consistency of quality from seed to fruit. Many of the input seeds for production are also grown by us as part of the company’s collection of heirlooms and open-pollinated varieties, which allows us to offer a wide range and varieties of fresh produce.

We have a matured Integrated Pest & Disease Management where nature’s beneficial insects, bio-derived neem oil and garlic along with pheromone insects traps are used effectively to manage the agriculture pests. Combination of horse, cow and poultry compost manure with beneficial microbes helps us to maintain soil’s micro-environment and fertility, at the same time nurture the mother earth for future generations.

All of our production is 100% drip-irrigation which allows us to reduce water consumption by 70% over conventional agriculture. Drip watering reduces water use by eliminating waste because it applies water directly to plant root zones; losses to wind and evaporation are dramatically reduced.

Organic farmers, ranchers, and food processors follow a defined set of standards to produce organic food and fibre. Congress described general organic principles in the Organic Foods Production Act, and these standards cover the product from farm to table, including soil and water quality, pest control, livestock practices, and rules for food additives.

Organic farms and processors:

  • Preserve natural resources and biodiversity
  • Support animal health and welfare
  • Provide access to the outdoors so that animals can exercise their natural behaviours
  • Only use approved materials
  • Do not use genetically modified ingredients
  • Receive annual onsite inspections

    FOOD SAFETY

Being farmers, we ensure the quality of the products while cultivation and harvesting is top grade before it reaches our customers. Each and every product is carefully cleaned and packed at our facility in Khunmoh Industrial Park. Also, all our product blends like our honey, teas and spices are made from the original recipe passed down from Kashmiri ancestors.

Consumption of Organic Kashmir produce is a great way to eliminate your exposure to pesticides and harmful heavy metals commonly found in fresh produce that have been grown using conventional agricultural practices.

We do not use any pesticides and harmful toxins for plant protection. We have a matured Integrated Pest & Disease Management where nature’s beneficial insects, bio-derived neem oil and garlic along with pheromone insects traps are used effectively to manage the agriculture pests.
